This week is about MATH! :) second graders and third graders learned about adding the value of notes and rests. Students we're able to create their own patterns using different notes and rests. (For third graders, creating a pattern out of given meter). Second graders were also introduced to - "double eighth note" How do we read or play notes and rests?
Simply put, notes and rests are drawings, or maps, of melody. Notes represent the duration and pitch of each sound. A rest indicates the length of a pause between sounds. 9/10/2018 0 Comments READING MUSIC: for first graders.This week for first graders- we've started learning about basic note values. Students also performed different rhythm (note) patterns (they've composed) using the drum. Note value indicates the relative duration of a note.

I'm sure that this will be a superb year for all of us. I would also like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. Everyone calls me Ms. Charlie, :) I'm from the Philippines and I have been living in the UAE for the past eight years. I have a Bachelor Degree in Music Education (voice emphasis, minor in piano) and teaching for 10 years now. I graduated from The Pontifical and Royal University of Santo Tomas. I love singing, playing my guitar and reading books - and yes, I love to travel too! :) Teaching music is something I feel very passionate about and I just can’t wait to start this year of fun and exciting music experience. Binary Form describes the structure of a piece of music which is divided into 2 different sections. The 2 sections are usually labelled A and B, or 1 and 2 or simple Binary Form. Students identified AB pattern through creative movements while listening to some familiar songs. 9/12/2017 0 Comments It's FINALLY here!!!VATW is a world choir headed by Laurie Lewin . It’s an on-going music project that involves young people/ Schools from around the globe in making an international song/video release each year. It is not just a recording but also a fund raising project - currently funds raised are going to help children in Njombe, Tanzania.
